Exeter City Council is committed to promoting health, fitness and well-being for all its residents, with its Exeter Leisure service offering 6 pools, 4 gyms, group exercise classes, a luxury spa and much more across its 6 city sites.
Drive was asked to create a website that unified these individual centres and their wide range of services into one coherent leisure offering. This new website would also promote the launch of the city’s brand new, state-of-the art flagship leisure centre, St Sidwell’s Point – the first of its kind in the UK to be built to the ultra-energy-efficient Passivhaus standard.
Clarity of information and accessibility for all were the key user experience requirements for every aspect of the project, with the design being carefully crafted to meet them. Brand assets were therefore applied into a clean, spacious layout to create an easily navigable site with direct call-to-actions for more information, to book online or to download the Exeter Leisure App.
Bold, aspirational imagery accompanies the information, showing the various leisure spaces and the wide range of activities available. To assist with signposting, Drive also developed a suite of simple visual icons to represent the individual activities across the centres.
