Alexander Hollweg: Journeys in Art – Exhibition video

Drive’s long-standing relationship with the South West Heritage Trust and Museum of Somerset continued this autumn with a new film to accompany the flagship exhibition of the art of Somerset artist, Alexander Hollweg – ‘Journeys in Art’ (1936–2020).

The short biographical film was created from archive photos and high resolution artwork scans to accompany the eclectic mix of exhibits. The narrative creatively depicts and builds the artwork, providing an experience of travelling into the imagery, while the tone and style was derived from the life and work of Hollweg with the utmost care and sensitivity. Visual, audio and script guidance from Drive helped to shape the film into the perfect complement to the exhibition experience. Meanwhile, social media excerpts were used to promote the exhibitions across relevant social channels.

The retrospective of paintings and sculpture was the culmination of over three years of research and curation, and the private view was rightly packed full of those who have appreciated Hollweg’s work, his family, and those who knew him throughout his career – or the time he spent in Nettlecombe, where he played such a prominent role in the creative community.
